Locum to Perm - Physician - Gastroenterology
Located in Springfield, Massachusetts, this practice is part of a well-established medical community that prioritizes patient care and professional growth. The facility offers a dynamic inpatient setting with a call structure of approximately 1:4, including floor, ED, ICU, emergent consults, and endoscopies when needed. Ideal candidates will enjoy a supportive environment with onsite labs and X-ray facilities, catering to adult populations in a hospital setting.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct gastroenterological examinations and procedures, focusing on adult patients.
- Perform required procedures, including:
- Esophageal Dilatation/Manometry
- Lower GI Endoscopy
- Colonoscopy
- Liver Biopsy
- Manage a patient load averaging 4-12 hospital-based patients per day.
- Collaborate with a team of physicians to provide comprehensive care.
- Utilize the EPIC documentation system for patient records.
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
- Active Massachusetts Medical License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience in performing specific upper GI endoscopies (e.g., with biopsy, foreign body removal).
- ERCP certification is a plus but not mandatory.
License and Certification Requirements
- Active Massachusetts Medical License is required.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible - Board Certification preferred.
- BLS Certification required.
