Locum - Gastroenterology - MD/DO

Job Opportunity: Locum Gastroenterology Physician - Springfield, MA

This locum position involves a mix of inpatient care with a call structure of approximately 1:4, working predominantly in hospital settings with opportunities for endoscopies and emergent consults. The facility is well-equipped with onsite lab and X-ray services, ensuring comprehensive care is provided. Coverage is needed starting mid-December 2025, with the potential for ongoing opportunities until a permanent physician is placed. Job Responsibilities:

• Provide inpatient gastroenterological care and perform necessary procedures.
• Manage emergent consults and endoscopies as required.
• Collaborate with a team of four physicians to deliver exceptional patient care.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation using the EPIC EMR system.
• Perform required procedures including esophageal dilatation, colonoscopy, and liver biopsy.
• Engage in on-call responsibilities via beeper overnight.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology (BC preferred).
• Active Massachusetts medical license is required.
• No outpatient coverage expectations.
• BLS certification is mandatory.
• ERCP certification is a nice-to-have.

License and Certification Requirements:
