Flexible GI Locum – ERCP Required | Name Your Rate if You Can Cover!

An established hospital in Lufkin, TX is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterologist for inpatient-only locum coverage. This role focuses on managing in-house and ER consults with procedures generated from those cases — no outpatient work required.

Position Highlights

• Location: Lufkin, Texas

• Setting: Inpatient only

• Schedule: Coverage needed to fill gaps between Nov 2025 – Dec 2026 (specific weeks listed below)

• FTE: 1

• Average Volume: Up to 10 patients per day + procedures as needed

• Required Skills: ERCP, endoscopies, colonoscopies

• EMR: Paragon (transitioning to EPIC in 2026)

• Support: Endoscopy-trained GI nursing staff and anesthesia backup (conscious sedation preferred)

• Patient Cases: GI bleed, SBO, abdominal pain, ulceration, food bolus, gastritis, carcinoma diagnosis (no treatment)

Compensation Details

• Daily On-Call: $3,100 + (includes 4 gratis hours)

• Average Callback: ~4 hours/week

Requirements

• Board Certified / Board Eligible in Gastroenterology

• Active Texas License (Required)

• ERCP Experience (Required)

• ACLS Certification (Required)

• Clean Malpractice Record (Highly Preferred)

• Gastroenterology Residency Completion (Required)

Credentialing: 30–60 days (Emergency credentialing available for clean files)
