Gastroenterologist opening in Eureka, California Northern California Details:

  • Full time, permanent position
  • Mix of inpatient and outpatient practice
  • High procedural volume with support staff
  • Epic EMR system
Assignment Details Start Date: ASAP End Date: Ongoing Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call Schedule: Monday-Friday, hours per PD (refer to facility) Patients per Day: 16 Call Details: Beeper, response time 20-30 minutes, 1:6 call ratio EMR: Epic Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology ACLS and BLS Clean history Fellowship in Gastroenterology required Clinical Details Scope: Comprehensive Gastroenterology including inpatient and outpatient care Typical Procedures: - Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, cautery of bleeders - ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic) – preferred - PEG placement - Esophageal dilatation/manometry - Small bowel biopsy - Lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy (flexible), colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision - Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) – preferred - Liver biopsy – preferred - Sengstaken/Blakemore tube management
