Locums | Gastroenterology | Clinic + Call | Sylva & Clyde, NC Why This Role

  • Long-term vacancy coverage needed to maintain GI services at two hospitals
  • Provide both inpatient and outpatient GI care
  • Help reduce patient backlog and expand access to local families
Assignment Details Start Date: ASAP End Date: Ongoing Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call Schedule: Full-time; weekdays and weekends Patients per Day: 10+ Call Details: 24-hour beeper call; 30-minute response time; 100% call ratio and callback rate; 6–10 phone consults; 2–10 admissions EMR: McKesson and Athena Requirements Board Certified or Eligible in Gastroenterology Active NC license BLS Clean record Clinical Details Scope: Inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology Typical Procedures: - Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, bleeder cautery, variceal injection, PEG - ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic required) - Esophageal dilation and manometry - Small bowel biopsy - Sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid) - Colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision - EUS and liver biopsy (preferred) - Sengstaken/Blakemore tube management (preferred) - Support: RN staff per hospital Compensation Rates: Facility requests all-inclusive bids for: - 24-hour call only - 24-hour call with clinic hours - Clinic only Malpractice: Provided Travel: Reimbursed
