High-Pay GI Locums – Full Scope + Call – Eastern Wisconsin

Highlights

• Bread-and-butter GI only — no ERCP, EUS, PEG, or manometry required.

• Balanced practice — inpatient consults + outpatient clinic + procedures (not just scoping all day).

• Predictable call — 2 weeks/month, with reasonable volume (≈5 phone consults, 5 inpatient, 3 admits/24h).

• Location appeal — lakeshore living in Sheboygan, 1 hr from Milwaukee, 2 hrs from Chicago.

• Ongoing runway — long-term need, open to 1 FTE locum or 2 docs splitting blocks.

Position Details

• Type: Locum / Contract (ongoing)

• Start: ASAP

• Duration: Long-term / renewable

• Schedule: Outpatient clinic + inpatient consults + hospital rounding

• Call: 2 weeks/month (includes night call)

Expected Call Volume (24 hrs)

• ~5 phone consults

• ~5 inpatient visits

• ~3 admissions

Procedural Duties

Required:

• Upper GI endoscopy (biopsy, foreign body removal)

• Colonoscopy (biopsy, polypectomy)

Preferred:

• Cautery/fulguration of bleeder

• Variceal injection therapy

• Small bowel biopsy

• Lower GI scopes

Not Required:

• ERCP, PEG, EUS, esophageal manometry/dilation, liver biopsy, sigmoidoscopy, Blakemore tube

Facility & Support

• Hospital: 100 beds | 12 PPS

• System EMR: Epic

• Support: GI lab staff, RNs, hospitalist backup

• Credentialing: 60–90 days (IMLC accepted)

• Travel/Lodging/Licensing: Fully covered or reimbursed

Qualifications

• MD/DO, BC/BE in Gastroenterology

• Wisconsin license or IMLC eligible

• Competence in upper/lower endoscopy with biopsies/polypectomy
