Overview

We are seeking experienced Gastroenterologists (MD/DO) to provide specialty-level evaluations and Independent Medical Opinions (IMOs) for disability claim cases. This unique PRN opportunity blends remote chart reviews with occasional onsite travel exams. You’ll be offering expert-level assessments for Veterans whose claims require gastro-specific review after initial NP/PA evaluations.

This is an excellent fit for physicians seeking flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to make an impact in the disability claim process without the demands of a traditional clinic schedule.

Schedule & Structure

  • PRN assignments – remote IMOs + travel exams as scheduled

  • Travel schedule: varies; full-day rate applies for exams, plus travel days reimbursed (½ day rate for travel in/out)

  • No call, no weekends, no ongoing clinic

Compensation & Benefits

  • Daily Pay: $1,600–$1,700

  • Travel Compensation:

    • ½ day rate for travel days (before/after onsite exams)

    • All travel expenses covered (flights, lodging, transport)

  • Flexibility: Remote-focused with occasional national travel

Key Responsibilities

  • Review medical documentation and provide Independent Medical Opinions (IMOs)

  • Conduct specialty-specific evaluations when onsite exams are required

  • Deliver clear, evidence-based assessments in line with disability claim guidelines

  • Collaborate with administrative teams for scheduling and compliance

Qualifications

  • MD/DO with Board Certification in Gastroenterology

  • Active, unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state

  • Strong clinical documentation and analytical skills

  • Comfortable with PRN travel and flexible scheduling

Why Join?
