Position Overview
A hospital in South Carolina is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to provide 24-hour inpatient call coverage over the Christmas holiday week. This locum assignment includes daily rounding, consults, inpatient procedures, and overnight call responsibilities.
Weekday APP support is available, but there is no APP coverage on weekends or holidays. One of the scheduled coverage dates is December 25th, which qualifies for holiday premium pay.
New providers must complete a ½-day weekday orientation prior to their first shift.
- 100% inpatient GI coverage
- 24-hour call (7a–7a) for consecutive weekdays, including a holiday
- Daily duties: consults (15–20/day), rounding, and inpatient procedures
- Procedures required during weekend will be done in the OR (Endo lab closed)
- Weekday APP support:
- Mon–Thurs: 8a–5p
- Fri: 8a–2p
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology (required)
- Active SC Medical License, SC CSR, and DEA
- Must be comfortable with moderate sedation and willing to complete hospital credentialing for it
- Prior inpatient locum or call coverage experience preferred
