- Seeking an experienced and visionary Gastroenterologist to serve as Chief of Gastroenterology.
- This is a leadership role dedicated to developing a high-impact academic GI division that integrates advanced clinical care, research, and medical education.
- The Chief will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of gastroenterology services across southeastern New Jersey.
Job Responsibilities
• Oversee advanced GI services, including complex endoscopic procedures and comprehensive inpatient/outpatient care.
• Recruit, mentor, and manage GI hospitalists, fellows, and faculty.
• Collaborate with partner institutions for cancer care, research, and education.
• Drive workforce development and community outreach to improve access to care.
• Provide expert clinical leadership and management of complex GI cases.
• Ensure efficient endoscopic scheduling and referral management.
Qualifications
• Active and unrestricted New Jersey medical license (or willing to obtain).
• Current BLS, ACLS, DEA, and CSR/CDS certifications.
• Minimum of 5 years’ clinical experience in gastroenterology.
• Proven leadership experience (as Chief, Director, or program builder) – PREFERRED.
• No new graduates; not open to APPs, locums, 1099 contracts, or visa sponsorship.
• Malpractice or licensing history considered with limitations.
Working Hours
• Manageable call schedule: 1:4 rotation, supported by hospitalists and APPs.
