Join Our Team as a Gastroenterology Physician – Exciting 24/7 Coverage Opportunity!

Are you a seasoned Gastroenterologist seeking a challenging and rewarding role in a dynamic healthcare environment? We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Gastroenterology Physician to provide 24-hour inpatient coverage at a prestigious Level 3 trauma center. This role offers the chance to work in a collaborative setting across two leading facilities, delivering high-quality care to diverse patient populations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide inpatient gastroenterology consultation and management, including procedures such as ERCP.
  • Support 24-hour call coverage, ensuring continuous patient care in emergency and routine situations.
  • Support services ranging from GI bleeding and abdominal pain to complex procedures in the Endo Suite and OR.
  • Float between facilities as needed, maintaining flexible and versatile coverage.
  • Document patient interactions efficiently within the Epic EMR system.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Board Certified in Gastroenterology (BC required).
  • Valid Tennessee medical license.
  • Certification in BLS, with ERCP expertise essential.
  • DEA license.
  • Demonstrated experience in inpatient care and advanced endoscopic procedures, especially ERCP.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Prior experience in a trauma center setting.
  • Multilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-fellowship experience in gastroenterology, with substantial inpatient exposure.
  • Proven competence in performing ERCP procedures.

Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to participate in scheduling shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and meet privileging timelines.
  • Willing to accept licensure via IMLC.
  • Valid COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption with proper documentation.
  • Travel reimbursements available for approved assignments.
