• On-Call Shift Schedule: 24-hour call; 7a - 7a
• Call Type: Beeper
• Call Response Time: 30 minutes (expected)

• August 13–14, 2025
• August 20–24, 2025
• August 27–28, 2025

PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Adults, Geriatrics
• Patient Volume/Census: Average 12 patients per day
• Rounding: Included
• Phone Consults: Yes
• Case Mix: Gastroenterology; procedures only required for emergent situations (EUS and ERCP preferred but not required)

FACILITY INFORMATION
• No. of Beds in Department: 219
• EMR System: Cerner
• Office Equipment Available: Standard GI procedural equipment
• Specialty Backup Available: RN, NP, 24-hour anesthesia, specialty backup
• Support Staff Available: Full hospital support staff

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Temporary Privileges Available: Yes (Emergency privileges available within a week for a clean file)

REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• Emergent GI procedures as needed (EUS and ERCP preferred but not required)

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active Pennsylvania license required (IMLC accepted)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, DEA
• Boards: Board Certification in Gastroenterology

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide 24-hour call coverage for gastroenterology services.
• Perform emergent GI procedures as required.
• Manage inpatient consults and follow-ups for gastroenterology patients.
• Collaborate with hospital staff including RNs, NPs, and anesthesia teams.
• Ensure accurate documentation within Cerner EMR.
