Assignment Details:

Schedule: 7a-7a 24 hour call and response to inpatient procedures as needed.

Licensure: Active CA license required
Responsibilities Include:
-
Evaluation, diagnosis, consultation, treatment, and management of patients with GI tract disorders including:
-
Esophagus, stomach, small & large intestines
-
Liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and biliary system
-
-
Admit to inpatient care and perform history and physical examinations
-
Medical management of general conditions encountered during GI care
Procedures Required:
Endoscopic Procedures:
-
Upper GI endoscopy (EGD) with biopsy, hemostasis, variceal banding, dilation, stent placement
-
Colonoscopy with biopsy, polypectomy, dilation, stent placement
-
Capsule endoscopy
-
Proctoscopy and/or flexible sigmoidoscopy
-
Complete enteroscopy including DBE
-
Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG)
-
Use of energy sources (non-laser) during endoscopic procedures
ERCP Experience Required:
-
Biliary manometry
-
Sphincterotomy and stone extraction
-
Placement of biliary/pancreatic stents
-
Nasobiliary drainage
Additional Requirements:
-
Moderate Sedation Certification – test required
-
Fluoroscopy privileges – non-core (preferred)
