Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist – Columbia, SC – $4,000–$4,500/day

A well-respected health system in Columbia, South Carolina is seeking Board-Certified Gastroenterologists for a long-term locum tenens assignment. Providers will rotate across multiple facilities, performing a range of procedures in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Competitive daily rate with additional compensation for callback.

Location: Columbia, SC
Start Date: October 5, 2025
Pay Rate: $4,000–$4,500/day (provider pay)
Call Back Rate: $600/hour
Contract Length: 6 months (with option to extend)
Employment Type: 1099 – Locum Tenens

Schedule:

• 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM onsite

• Offsite call coverage from 4:00 PM – 6:59 AM

• Callback is rare, but must return onsite if called in

• Procedures will not exceed 15/day (average 8–12)

• Must be available for weekday call and occasional callback

Practice Setting:

• Hospital, outpatient clinic, and ASC

• Approx. 10 inpatient consults per day with APP rounding support

• Case Mix: EGDs, colonoscopies, biopsies, dilations, manometry

• Advanced procedures preferred (ERCP, EUS, variceal banding, liver biopsy)

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology

• Minimum 2 years of post-training experience

• Active SC license (preferred) or willing to obtain

• ACLS, BLS, DEA, and SC CSR required

• EPIC charting experience preferred (training provided if needed)

Additional Info:

• Call is primarily consultative, with rare callback

• Documentation must be completed onsite

• Support includes other MDs, APPs, CRNAs, and OR team

• Travel between locations is minimal (under 2 miles)
