Join a leading regional referral center in Charleston, WV, offering a dynamic and well-supported Gastroenterologist Hospitalist position with a consistent 7on/7off inpatient schedule and full-time APP support during the weekdays. This role provides the opportunity to work in a 1,100+ bed health system known for its advanced surgical and diagnostic facilities, high-volume endoscopy department, and team-based care model.
Location: Charleston, West Virginia
Specialty: Gastroenterology – Inpatient Hospitalist
Schedule: 7on/7off | 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Start Date: As soon as credentialed
Contract Length: 120 days to 6 months
Licensing: West Virginia license required; facility willing to license qualified candidates
🔍 Position Highlights:

Inpatient only role, based at the Memorial Division
-
Work alongside 2 GI physicians splitting coverage in a 7on/7off rotation
-
20–25 patients/day with support from APPs (Mon–Fri) and a 3-provider weekend team model
-
Procedures include: Colonoscopy, EGD, and other general GI procedures

EMR: Cerner
-
Adult patient population (18+)
-
Hospital system includes multiple campuses and provides care to a large catchment area across the state and region
✅ Requirements:

Board Certified in Gastroenterology (required)
-
Active WV medical license (or eligibility for temporary licensure)

DEA, BLS, and ACLS (required)

Comfortable with general GI procedures

Credentialing timeframe: ~60 days
