Southeastern New Jersey’s largest healthcare system and home to the region’s only Level II Trauma Center, is seeking an exceptional Chief of Gastroenterology to build and lead a brand-new academic division. This unique leadership opportunity allows you to shape GI care, education, and research in partnership with a new medical school and Drexel University, while enjoying a vibrant coastal lifestyle near NYC and Philly.

As the Chief of Gastroenterology, you will:
- Lead and develop a new academic GI division focusing on clinical excellence, education, and research in gastroenterology.
- Recruit, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team including faculty, fellows, and staff to build a strong, collaborative program.
- Expand and enhance advanced GI services, including endoscopy and both inpatient and outpatient care settings.
- Serve as a hands-on clinical leader, actively rounding, consulting, and managing complex gastroenterology cases.
- Drive strategic growth of the GI service line by collaborating closely with system leadership and other stakeholders.
- Function in a leadership capacity to shape the program’s culture, clinical standards, and educational mission.
- Be directly responsible for academic and clinical program building in partnership with a new medical school and Drexel University’s academic community.
- Highly competitive base salary with a pay range of $521,850 to $823,584 depending on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications
-Candidates must have current or be able to obtain the appropriate state medical license.
-Completion of fellowship is not required, but board certification in GI is mandatory.
-Required certifications at start include BLS, ACLS, DEA, and CSR/CDS
-Open to candidates willing to commute longer distances or hold multiple jobs, subject to limitations.
-Experience starting up a program, or leadership experience as chief or medical director is highly preferred
