Key Responsibilities:
- Consulting with Patients: Meet with patients to discuss their symptoms, medical history, and concerns regarding their gastrointestinal health.
- Diagnostic Testing: Perform specialized tests such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, and imaging studies (X-rays, MRIs, and ultrasounds) to accurately diagnose conditions.
- Treatment Planning: Develop personalized treatment plans based on patient diagnoses, including recommending medications, lifestyle changes, and procedures.
- Perform endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopy and upper GI endoscopy, to inspect internal organs and take necessary biopsies or perform
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Residency and Fellowship: Completion of a three-year internal medicine residency followed by a three-year gastroenterology fellowship.
- Certification: Board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine, specializing in Gastroenterology.
