SIH's established Gastroenterology practice is seeking gastroenterologists to join our not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt charitable corporation (PSLF eligible). We are a busy, well-established, collaborative group of physicians and APPs who are committed to serving all patients with gastric problems throughout southern Illinois. Qualifications
AND
- Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited Fellowship training program in Gastroenterology.
- Certification Current certification in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine or in
Gastroenterology by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine or its equivalent. Board
certification must be achieved within five years of being admissible to take the exam.
- Clinical Experience (Initial) Applicant must provide documentation of provision of gastroenterology services (100 cases)
representative of the scope and complexity of the privileges requested during the previous year
(waived for applicants who completed training during the previous year).

Skills
Colonoscopy with and without biopsy or polypectomy including colonic dilatation
Complete enteroscopy including single balloon enteroscopy (DBE) with or without biopsy
Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy with or without biopsy including hemostasis (injection,
electrosurgical or ligation) and sclerotherapy or banding of esophageal varices and dilation of the
esophagus or pylorus
Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy device placement including stent or Bravo
Use of energy sources (excluding lasers) during an endoscopic procedure
Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG)
Gastrointestinal motility studies
Capsule endoscopy
Hemorrhoid banding
ERCP and EUS welcomed
