Physician - Gastroenterologist
SCHEDULE:
- Full-Time
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00am to 5:00pm
- Limited On-Call
COMPENSATION:
- $650,000 to $700,000 Base Salary, negotiable dependent upon experience
- Graduated Bonus Plan

LOCATION:
New Smyrna Beach, Florida
COMPANY PROFILE:
This large medical group employs more than 400 providers (physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners) across multiple locations in several states, and more than 25 specialty service lines. They are currently seeking new physicians for a location in New Smyrna Beach due to growth.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The gastroenterologist will have a strong referral base and access to supporting specialists, allowing for a robust patient base and provision of a strong continuum of care. The position is aligned with the group’s digestive health institute, providing multidisciplinary care to patients across the spectrum of digestive disease.
The average number of patients per day varies by need and physician preference. Visits are scheduled based on the estimated length of time needed to ensure optimal attention for each patient.
Typical duties of the role include:
- examine patients and assess their medical conditions
- consult with patients’ primary care physicians
- endoscopic procedures
- x-ray, MRI, and ultrasound scanning
- surgeries of the digestive tract
- perform procedures and treatments using appropriate methods
- prescribe medications as needed
- refer patients to other specialists when necessary
Physicians work with dedicated clinical assistants who room and prep patient visits, as well as assist during the visits as needed. The practice has ample resources, including support from nurse practitioners and/or physician assistants.
The practice utilizes the Epic EHR.
On-call duties are minimal and shared among the providers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Florida medical license
- DEA
- Board Certified or Eligible, Gastroenterology
- ERCP and EUS preferred, not required
- no experience required
