Job Description

Contract Length: 3 months

Support staff: OR team and CRNA. APPS when on shift support most of the time depending on whether they are vacation, sick, etc.

Job Responsibilities

Patients per day: 10
Patient population/age: Adult
Department description: Outpatient and Inpatient GI. Preferences: Upper GI w/foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, with injection of varices, with banding of varices; ERCP, ERCP w/PEG; Liver biopsy; Insertion/mgmt of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube. GI works Inpatient only but will do some outpatient procedures sometimes. Anesthesia supports GI M-F 0730-4pm. Anything outside of those hours anesthesia can support bit it is on an on call basis to the OR.
EMR: EPIC
Hospital bed size: 600
Special procedures: EUS

Qualifications

Requirements: Inpatient and Outpatient
Board Certification: BC
State license required: SC
DEA
CSR
Certifications required: BLS, ACLS
Minimum experience required: 2 years
Credentialing Timeframe: Expedited

Skills

Skills required: Upper and lower GI with biopsy; Diagnostic; Therapeutic; Esophageal dilation/manometry with interpretation; Small bowel biopsy; Lower GI endoscopy; Sigmoidoscopy (Rigid); Colonoscopy w/biopsy, Colonoscopy w/excision of polyp. Advanced Endoscopy a plus.
