Gastroenterology Job Opportunity in a Southern Gem Community

A prestigious Regional Medical Center, is actively seeking a dedicated full-time Gastroenterologist to join our esteemed team. Situated in south Georgia, and is known for its southern charm and vibrant culture, this opportunity offers an enriching professional experience in a picturesque setting.

Position Details:
  • Full-time Gastroenterologist position
  • Required call only 7 days/month, shared with general surgeons and fellow gastroenterologists, with extra compensation for additional call shifts
  • Support from an FNP-C

  • Completion or upcoming completion of gastroenterology fellowship
  • Board certification or eligibility within 5 years
  • Georgia Medical License or participation in Interstate Medical Licensure Compact

Job Responsibilities

Gastroenterologists in our community play a critical role in diagnosing and treating disorders of the digestive system. Their responsibilities include meeting with patients to assess their condition, conducting diagnostic tests such as colonoscopies and endoscopies, and interpreting imaging studies like X-rays and MRIs .

Additionally, they may refer patients for surgery and provide ongoing treatment post-surgery. Gastroenterologists are skilled in interpreting diagnostic tests to identify gastrointestinal disorders and perform advanced therapeutic procedures such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) for diagnosing and treating bile duct and pancreatic diseases. They also collaborate with
our specialists, such as oncologists, in cases involving cancer. Overall, gastroenterologists are essential healthcare professionals dedicated to improving the digestive health and well-being of their patients.
