  • Multiple Gastroenterologists needed in Des Moines, Iowa.
  • Target Start: June 2024 (flexible).
  • 3 weeks per month/full time, ongoing.
  • Facility in need of locum providers to do procedures in the hospital outpatient endoscopy center.
  • COVERED EXPENSES: Full Travel/Lodging, Pre-paid Medical Malpractice Insurance.

Details:
  • Schedule: 24 hour call (7a-7a). Outpatient hours will be 8a-4p.
  • Locum providers will work outpatient procedures OR Hospital Coverage. Must be willing to do either depending on facility's needs.
  • Facility will accept Locum, Locum to Perm or Perm.
  • Seeking providers who are available 3 weeks per month or full time.
  • Call Ratio: Varies, will discuss in interview
  • Clinical Areas: Adult
  • Onsite Lab: YES
  • Onsite X-Ray: YES
  • Outpatient Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine is Required
  • Average # of Office/Clinic Patients Per Locum Per Day: 10-12 outpatient.
  • Average # of Hospital Based Patients Per Locum Per Day: Varies, 5-10
  • Physicians in Group: 4
  • Average # of Patients Per Day: Clinic - 14
  • EMR: Cerner in Hospital. AllScripts in Clinic.
Experience Required:
  • EGD, Colonoscopy
  • ERCP & EUS
Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days
License: active Iowa license -- OR -- IMLC
Board Certified: Required

Job Responsibilities

Required Procedures:
- Colonoscopy
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)

Types of Upper GI Endoscopy:
- with Biopsy
- with Foreign Body Removal
- with Banding of Varices
- with ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)

Qualifications

- Experience Required: EGD, Colonoscopy, ERCP & EUS
- License Requirements: active Iowa license -- OR -- IMLC
- Board Certified: Required

Working Hours

Schedule: 24 hour call (7a-7a). Outpatient hours will be 8a-4p.
