Atlantic General Hospital, a not-for-profit, 62-bed community cornerstone in Berlin, Maryland, is excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a Gastroenterologist to join our dedicated and collegial team. As we prepare for the retirement of a valued member, we seek a dynamic GI physician to collaborate with our current gastroenterologists, enhancing our services and preventing patient migration within our primary and secondary service areas.

Our hospital services a draw area of 100,000 individuals, expanding up to 400,000 during the summer months due to the allure of Ocean City. We pride ourselves on combining personalized attention with advanced medical care, supported by a fiercely dedicated community. The incoming physician will be welcomed into a brand-new, state-of-the-art, 53,000 sq ft clinic, designed with provider pods to ensure a personalized and efficient workspace.

Job Responsibilities

Collaborate with a team of 3 providers in providing comprehensive gastroenterology care.
Participate in a light call rotation, assisting with clinic, hospital, and ED call coverage.
Conduct an average of 1,400 colonoscopies and 500 EGDs per year.
Engage in dedicated clinic and surgery days, with the flexibility to set schedules in alignment with hospital coordination.
Contribute to a team-oriented environment, supporting ongoing recruitment efforts and maintaining the high standard of care Atlantic General is known for.

Qualifications

Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Maryland.
Comfortable treating a patient base ranging from adults to geriatrics.
A team-player mindset with a focus on quality of medicine and rural preventative healthcare.
Open to American medical graduates and international medical graduates, including those on J1 and H1b visas.

Working Hours

4.5-day work week, with clinic hours from 8 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
OR days and call coverage as per the established rotation.

Skills

Proficiency in a wide range of GI procedures, including but not limited to colonoscopies, EGDs, and basic endoscopic interventions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster relationships with patients, staff, and the community.
Leadership and the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
