SHIFT DETAILS :
Specialty: Gastroenterology
Start Date: 4/15/2024
Contract Length: Locums to PERM
Shift Details: day shifts and call shifts
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9hr day
Call: Full-time Monday – Monday 7a-7a, 1 week on/1 week off

WORK DETAILS :
Support staff: 2 AP and seasoned clinic staff
Amount of coverage needed per month: The goal is to get to a 1:4 call schedule; however, due to FMLA, change in FTE status, etc. the locums provider may need to cover 2 weeks in the month of call.
Patients per day: office 20-25 per day depending on acuity
Procedures: 10-12 endoscopy/colonoscopy procedures when assigned to outpatient procedures. Huge back log of patients that need to have procedures.
Patient population/age: 18 plus
Department description: office work, procedures, inpatient coverage call coverage Monday – Monday weekly
Gastro practice with 1 full time gastro, 3 part time gastro’s and 2 pa’s 2 out of 3 current part time gastros will be retiring in July and August 2023. They are utilizing other GI providers for call through another facility
Call: one week at a time Monday 7a-Monday 7a
EMR: EPIC
inpatient and outpatient – went live December 5, 2022
Special procedures: Procedures: 10-12 endoscopy/colonoscopy procedures when assigned to outpatient procedures. Huge back log of patients that need to have procedures. Loyal community that wants to remain with our practice.
Skills required: currently use Provation in the Endo centers for scopes - No EUS or ERCP procedures performed at this organization. If a patient requires these types of procedures, they will be transferred to the appropriate facility
Practice Setting: Clinic and practice

REQUIREMENTS :
Board Certification: gastroenterology
License required: PA a must
Minimum experience required: 1-2 years experience, will assist with training, but need someone to hit the ground running
Credentialing Timeframe: 45-120 days – must have PA license which will hopefully speed up time
Interview Process: Provider will have a teams interview with client to discuss perm details before locums to perm offer is accepted and the timeframe will be 90 days.
