Locums – Marquette, Michigan, Gastroenterology Opening
Clinical Role:

    • Coverage Needed: 2 weeks per month in 2024
      • May 16 through 30th
      • June 3 through June 9
      • July 15 through July 21
      • July 29 through Aug 4
      • August 26 through September 1
      • September 9 through September 15
      • November 18 through November 24
    • Inpatient/Outpatient Setting
    • Facility will accept multiple providers
    • Monday - Sunday 7am-7am (24/Hr. Call) /This applies to the first assignment
    • It’s possible that if the locum will be returning on a frequent/consistent basis, the following schedule will apply as the department will utilize the locum for scheduled outpatient procedures on the weekdays: Mon - Fri 7a-3p regular onsite hours, followed by 3p-7a night call. Saturday/Sunday: 7a-7a (24 hr. Call)
    • Looking for complete block coverage. They will only consider providers with full availability of the dates needed and not partial
    • Locum provider will not have a scribe for this assignment and will be responsible for all charting and work completion without an assistant joining them throughout the day
    • Locum provider will be required to review all of their pathology and complete the line of work by communicating with the nurses the letters they want to send their patients with results and follow up recommendations
    • Phone consults: 2-4, on call during entire assignment
    • Typically, 6-10 calls per night; 2-5 expected onsite call-ins.
    • Physicians are not required to remain on-site while providing night or weekend call support
    • When on call, physicians should only be on-site for call-back hours while providing direct patient care
    • Average on-site call-back hours expected: 2-4 hours per day
    • Rounding to be done by locum provider on new admissions and new surgical patients from previous nights
    • Hospitalists admit patients
    • Hospital/Procedures + Call: EGD, Colonoscopy, pH studies, Manometry, Sigmoidoscopy, PEG/PEG-J-Tube Placement
    • Common Hospital Procedures: ERCP, EUS, EEG/PEG-J Tube Placement
    • Advanced Procedures Include: ERCP, Spyglass, EUS, Esophageal Manometry, Esophageal pH Testing, Pill Cam
    • ERCP/EUS Preferred
    • 4 Procedure Rooms/Endo Suites
    • Average 12 Patients Per Day
    • Olympus, Hydrogen Breath Testing, Capsule Endoscopy
    • Board Certified / Board Eligible
    • IMLC Accepted
