The Division of Gastroenterology & Nutrition in the Department of Medicine at the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is seeking several full-time academic GI clinician/educators at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank, (Tenure or Non-Tenure track options). These positions enhance our missions in both patient care and teaching. Successful candidates will provide and contribute to the delivery of excellent Inpatient/Outpatient GI consultations and Inpatient/Outpatient endoscopy services at several locations.

· Robert B. Green Campus – Downtown

· UT Health Physicians at the Medical Arts & Research Center

· UT Health Physicians at the Gateway clinic

· UT Health Physicians at the DeZavala clinic

· UT Health Physicians at Kyle Seal Parkway

· UT Health San Antonio Multispecialty and Research Hospital (opening December 2024)

These positions provide the opportunity for both independent practice and the teaching of Gastroenterology Fellows in a diversity of clinical settings.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include laser lithotripsy for large bile duct stones, laser applications in the pancreatic and biliary tree difficult colonic polypectomy, therapy of inflammatory bowel disease with resource utilization for patients with IBD, therapy of hepatitis C and fatty liver disease, post-polypectomy bleeding, eradication of Barrett’s esophagus, patient education strategies for hepatitis C. Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to mentor a variety of learners in clinical research and scholarly pursuits.

Successful candidates must have an MD or equivalent degree and must be board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the appointment start date.
