Qualifications:
Graduate of accredited medical school - M.D or D.O.
Family Practice, internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Public Health, Occupational Medicine, other with relevant experience.
Fully Licensed in State of Arizona
Current DEA registration
Board Certified (preferred) or Board Eligible in primary care specialty
Strong Clinical Skill Set
Preventative Medicine Mindset
Provide medically appropriate, cost effective healthcare to population
Mission Driven
Ethics, honor, duty; commitment to serve underserved under sometimes adverse working conditions – inside prison complexes behind walls, including bedside, cell side, in yard, when necessary.
Integrated Care Model Experience
Ability to work with nurses and APCs in collaborative, patient focused care delivery
Supervisory Experience (larger sites)
Administrative experience in managed healthcare delivery
Security Clearance
Able to pass in-depth background screening for security clearance
Job Profile:

Provide efficient patient care, following evidence based standards; 18 to 25 patients per day (including documentation)
Proficient computer skills and willingness to document patient care on a timely basis thru electronic medical record.
Willing to provide regular on-call services.
Willing to do extra, including overtime hours, when required, to ensure patient care.
Adhere to approved formulary for therapeutic regimens before utilizing non-formulary procedure
Manage referrals to outside healthcare facilities for appropriateness, quality and continuity of care.
Compliance with Utilization Management review process, adhering to time frames and care standards
Sponsor and oversee Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners in compliance with the state law for correctional facilities
Serve as a professional resource and leader for all staff physicians and clinical staff at facility
