Full Spectrum Family Medicine opening in Virginia Located in Abingdon VA - Full Time - Permanent - Main Practice Site(s): Abingdon, VA - Continuity Clinic, Primary Care Center and Residents round at Memorial Hospital. - In addition, OB/GYN outreach in Marion, VA An employed Out-Patient Primary Care Center and the Memorial Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program, located in Historic Abingdon, Virginia, are currently seeking an Associate Program Director (APD). Ideal candidate must have a strong interest in In-Patient, Out-Patient, Obstetrics and Academic Medicine. This is a Full Time position with the following required duties: 60% of time will be handling administrative duties for the GME program, which includes: resident oversight in the clinic and hospital, attendance at meetings, candidate interviews, research, etc. The remaining 40% of time will be in direct patient clinical care and clinical activities working with our Residents both In-Patient and Out-Patient. The main focus of this position will primarily be the teaching of residents but will also have responsibilities for Medical Students and oversight of Advanced Practice Providers. Ideal Candidate must also be Family Medicine Residency Trained with experience in Obstetrics. Fellowship Training preferred, but not required. Physician must be interested in Academic Medicine and have a strong commitment to Graduate Medical Education. No overnight call for hospitalist shifts. 1:6 office (PCP) call (phone call only with residents taking first call) Qualified candidate will be a part of a growing FM Residency Program that is transitioning from AOA to ACGME accreditation, plus achieving osteopathic recognition and continued accreditation through ACGME. Over the next 5 years, we hope to fully staff our second location in Marion, VA which is focused on Womens Health.
