We currently have an opening for a full-time Physician to work at the Federal Correctional Institution in Alabama. The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements.
Requirements
-
M.D. or D.O. Degree from an accredited University

Active and Unrestricted Medical License in ANY state

Active BLS Certification

Active DEA registration
Scope of Work
-
Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services for inmates
-
Take medical histories, examine patients, and order and interpret laboratory tests and x-ray
-
Make a diagnosis to provide treatment plans and prescribe medications
-
Clinically manage injuries by suturing, splinting and immobilizing

Attend to medical emergencies

Record progress notes, recommend clinically necessary outside consultation, instruct and counsel, and order or carry out therapy
