Family Medicine with OB position in Iowa Located in Keosauqua, IA Full-Time, Permanent Position Details: - 4 day workweek - 10 hour/day schedule, targeted volumes 4200 visits per year - Very limited rounding on pediatric patients based on alternating coverage call schedule (see below). - Call coverage 1 to 2 days per week, approx. 1 weekend per month. - Primary call includes ED, New Born seldom occurs. Surge backup for hospitalist in rare. In-house and virtual hospitalist cover Inpatient, Observation and Skilled patients 24/7 minimizing call impact on Physician. Physician can still round on her/his own patients if desired in collaboration with hospitalist. Compensation/Benefit Overview: - FP/OB $300,000 requires cesarean includes all call as noted below, plus shared OB call. - FP/OB $280,000 without current ability to do cesarean all call required as noted below, plus shared OB call. Request physician get certified to do cesareans within the first 1 to 2 years of contract. Hospital will pay for expense of getting the certification. - Production available above base. - Sign on bonus - $50,000 - Loan Forgiveness (hospital funded) - $25,000/ year for up to 4 years, may apply for National Health Service Corp concurrently. May renew for additional years. - Moving expenses - $10,000 - Annual Longevity bonus year 1 - $5,000, year 2 - $10,000, year 3 - $15,000 payable on birth date (first payout is prorated to BD from start) - Paid Time Off 6 weeks (Vacation, Holiday, Sick, CME), increased based on years experience. - CME - $4,500 annually toward expenses The physician will also be required to respond to the ER to backup Midlevel Practitioner during certain cases. The county has many opportunities for outdoor activities, such as camping, hiking, fishing and scenic drives. Lacey-Keosauqua State Park, Iowas largest state park, and Shimek Forest, Iowa's largest state-owned forest, are both located in Van Buren County. The county consists of several towns known as the Villages of Van Buren. Keosauqua, the county seat, boasts the oldest courthouse in continuous use in Iowa. Homes and buildings listed on the national register of historic places can be found throughout the county. Bonaparte was one of five winners nationwide of the "Great American Main Street Award. Many antique and craft shops operate throughout the Villages. Several artists and craftspersons have their studios here. The county offers a safe, friendly, affordable place to live that is only four hours from St. Louis and five from Chicago. Fairfield, Iowa, 20 miles to the north, offers cultural experiences in art and music sponsored by the local college.
