Primary Care opening in Berlin, NH ~Full Time - Permanent ~Must be Board Certified M.D. or D.O ~Visa Eligible Were looking for an experienced MD who will serve as our CMO (40%) and who will also have patient care responsibilities (60%). Physicians perform the full scope of Internal Medicine and Family Practice. No distinction is made between adults who receive care from a family practitioner versus from an internist (unless it is a problem that a particular FP is not comfortable with). Overall, the practice tends to be a bit older with more adults 50-65 years old and geriatrics. The children in the practice receive care from our pediatrician and pediatric nurse practitioner. The typical workday is 8:00-5:00, plus charting and so on. Office patients are scheduled 8:30- 11:45 and 1:00-4:45. Physicians are usually out of the last patients room by 5:00. A typical office day is 16-22 patients, depending on the mix of appointment types. Full-time status is five days per week with NO after hours call. All primary care practitioners are salaried for the first 18 months of employment. As of 7/1/07 we implemented a new Performance Based Compensation Plan that has a potential for substantial additional income (this plan provided separately). More information can be provided. We offer clean, friendly, small-town rural living with reasonable access to larger cities (2.0-2.5 hours to Portland, Maine; Burlington, Vermont; and Manchester) and major metropolitan areas (3.0-3.5 hours to Boston or Montreal). Outdoor activities abound with plenty of options for hunting, fishing, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, canoeing, golfing, camping, and skiing. Several major ski areas are within 30-45 minutes of the Gorham-Berlin community, providing wonderful resorts for cross-country or alpine skiing. (Wildcat Mountain is only 10 minutes from our Gorham office!). Our community is also a great place to raise a family. Local school systems, particularly Gorham and Milan, are excellent. They have received awards for their quality and degree of parental involvement. Milan, a town of 1,300 has an excellent elementary school (K-6). Gorham, a town of 3,000, offers K-12 and serves the southern and western portions of our community. Berlin, a city of 10,000, has K-12 public schools. Our practitioners and/or their spouses are heavily involved in local education. For example, one of our nurse practitioners is Chair of the Milan School Board. We assist applicants and their families to arrange site visits, and find that visiting our practices and the region helps both parties determine whether we would be a good fit for one another. I hope that our community and practice opportunity are of interest to you. We hope you agree as you learn more about us!
