Primary Care physicians work as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating with other members of the team to provide medical care to veterans enrolled on the team. The physician is expected to demonstrate advance competencies and skills in assessing the physical and psychological status of patients. He/ she will provide comprehensive patient assessment, health history, physical examination, and patient education to veterans in the Primary Care team setting. As a Physician youwill provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill and injured veterans. Duties include documenting observations, assessments, chronically and acutely and changes in patient's condition; collaborating with other health team members to facilitate positive patient care outcomes; providing a full range ofcare to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavior problems; and accountable for meeting and maintaining the qualification standards and functional statements of assigned grade. Our facility is seeking individuals who possess good organizational skills which enable completion of work, a demonstrated ability to assume leadership in a patient centered program, and the ability to establish effective communication with patients, families, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team. This announcement will be used to fill other Staff Physician positions in the various teams within the Primary Care Service Line such as: Birmingham Primary Care Clinic, Gold Clinic, Red Clinic, Blue Clinic, Telehealth,Primary Care-Mental Health, Women's Clinic, Telephone Triage, Red Women's Clinic, various CBOCs such as: Jasper, Huntsville, Childersburg, Muscle Shoals, Bessemer, Anniston, Gadsden, Madison and Guntersville)and Primary Care-Homeless. Applicant's education and experience will be reviewed by a Professional Standards Board and Compensation Panel (for physicians and dentists) in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected. The recommended salary may be at any point in the range listed for this vacancy. Relocation Expenses: Relocation expenses are not authorized for this position and will not be reimbursed.
