Family Medicine Physician for Urgent Care or join established group practice in Jefferson, North Carolina
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
• BC (although new graduates would be considered)
• MD/DO
• Outpatient Setting
• No Call; call covered by Hospitalist Program
• Typical work schedule: Office Hours: 7:30 am to 10 pm M-F, 9am to 5:30 pm Saturday and 1pm to 6pm Sunday.
• Currently, Saturday and Sunday shifts are covered by PRN staff. Shifts are scheduled in 8 hour blocks.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
• Ashe Memorial Hospital was established in 1941and is a not-for-profit hospital located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, in the western part of North Carolina. Ashe Memorial is a rural hospital that has a remarkably sophisticated level of care for a county population of 25,499. In 2008 Ashe Memorial became a Critical Access Hospital.
• Ashe Memorial is a full-service hospital that offers Laparoscopic, General Surgery, Complete Eye Care including Cataract Treatment, Diagnostic Imaging,, Cardiopulmonary Therapy and Testing, Nutritional Counseling, Lifeline Emergency Response Program, Endoscopy, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Ultrasound, Physical Therapy, Obstetrics, Mountain Hearts Center for Prevention and Wellness, Digital Mammography, a 24-hour Emergency Room, an after-hours medical clinic and much more.
• The hospital has completed renovations of the following areas: Monitored Bed Unit, which includes the latest technology, nursing station on the second floor of the hospital and the Wilma Vannoy Birthing Center.
• The hospital also has a commitment to the wellness of the community, which we have addressed with the expansion of an in-depth Wellness and Cardiac Rehabilitation Center, “Mountain Hearts,” which includes the opening of a therapeutic swimming pool. In January 2011, the Mountain Family Care Center opened in its new location on the campus of the hospital. The MFCC offers afterhours care all week long.
