Job description
We are seeking an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician for a Chief of Outpatient position at an Academic Hospital in Greater NYC.
Role and Responsibilities
- Role will be 40-50% administrative and 50-60% clinical.
- Oversee a large primary care clinic with 15,000 annual visits.
- Manage a schedule of generally 5-11 patients per day, with a goal to increase to 15 per day.
- Participate in a strong academic environment with medical students, externs, and a residency program; residency teaching will be an essential part of the role.
- Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM or 9 AM to 5 PM, with no evenings or overnights.
- Required to participate in 13 weekend calls or holiday hospitalist shifts annually, with the Chief expected to handle half the volume.
- Utilize the EPIC EMR system.
- Family medicine physicians must be comfortable working with Internal Medicine residents.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary of $250,000 with a $10,000 sign-on bonus.
- Quality bonus up to $10,000 and 30% collections over $225,000 (expected approx. $15,000) for a total package of $285,000.
- Loan forgiveness in addition to PSLF, with $120,000 over 3 years ($40,000 per year).
- Full-time position with competitive compensation, benefits, and malpractice coverage.
Requirements
- Active NY License.
- Residency Training in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Board Eligibility or Board Certification Required.
- Residents graduating in the next 12 months are encouraged to apply.
- Spanish skills preferred, but not required.
