Job description
We are seeking a Family Practice physician for a locum tenens position in Brooklyn, New York. This is an outpatient general medicine and primary care assignment within an addiction treatment setting. Please see below for more information.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct medical examinations of patients and coordinate treatment
Review medical history and clarify information with the patient
Examine patients by conducting physical examinations and recording results
Take or order specimens, smears, blood tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic testing
Order tests to supplement the examination and assist in evaluating patient signs, symptoms, and problems
Analyze reports and findings of tests and examinations to evaluate patient condition and establish diagnoses
Administer and prescribe treatments and medications
Discuss findings of examinations and tests with patients and recommend approaches to improving health and well-being
Provide comprehensive primary care services to an adult patient population on a continuing basis
Practice independently in a general medicine capacity within an outpatient setting
Average daily census of approximately 25-30 patients
Qualifications
DEA registration / valid federal narcotics number
Medicare and Medicaid enrollment in New York State
ACLS certification required
BLS certification required
Working Hours
Weekend and evening coverage: 4:30 PM-12:30 AM, 12:30 PM-8:30 PM, and/or 8:30 AM-4:30 PM (weekends)
Scheduled coverage
No call required
