About the Role

Stafingo is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Primary Care Physicians (Internal Medicine or Family Practice) to provide on-site care at a VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Hyannis, MA. We are filling 2 full-time positions for a steady, one-year contract engagement.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, standard clinic hours 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
  • Full-time equivalent: 2,080 hours/year per physician
  • Overtime hours available and paid at a premium rate

Compensation

  • $180/hour for standard clinic hours
  • $270/hour for overtime hours (1.5x standard rate)
  • Weekly or bi-weekly direct deposit
  • Malpractice/professional liability insurance provided

Requirements

  • Current, full and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, or DC (Massachusetts license required prior to start)
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
  • Active DEA registration
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Ability to pass VA credentialing/privileging (VetPro) and background vetting
  • Current ACLS/BLS certification
  • Up-to-date immunizations/screenings per CDC guidance
  • Clean OIG exclusion list status
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)

About the Facility

Services are provided on-site at a VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Hyannis, MA, delivering primary care to Veterans on Cape Cod.

Job Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities – Primary Care Physician (Hyannis, MA CBOC)
CLINICAL DUTIES (approximately 95% of time)
Provide evaluation, treatment, and management of primary care patients for acute and chronic conditions.
Perform initial evaluation and treatment of minor wound care, respiratory illness, gastrointestinal illness, burns, musculoskeletal trauma, dermatological issues, ENT, eye, and urological problems.

Manage chronic diseases including coronary artery disease, atherosclerotic disease, Type I and Type II diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, PTSD, depression, and other chronic medical/psychiatric conditions.
Be physically present and on time for all scheduled tours of duty.
Follow all established medication policies and procedures; no sample medications permitted.
Ensure timely communication of test results to patients and providers per VHA Directive 1088.
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES (approximately 5% of time)
Participate in quality improvement activities and biweekly Primary Care staff meetings.
Complete QM/PI documentation for all procedures, complications, and outcomes.
Document patient care and select appropriate E&M/procedure codes in the electronic health record by the end of each encounter.
Follow patient safety and infection control standards; report incidents to the COR within 24 hours and log in the VA Patient Safety Reporting System.
Refer patient/customer service issues to the Primary Supervisory Physician or Deputy Chief of Primary Care.
STANDARDS OF CARE
Meet or exceed standards set by the American Board of Family Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine, and American Hospital Association, and all requirements in the Performance Work Statement.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Maintain Board Certification/Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (100% requirement).
Practice within scope of practice/privileging at all times.
Complete OPPE (twice annually) and FPPE (within 90 days of start).

Qualifications

Qualifications – Primary Care Physician (Hyannis, MA CBOC)

LICENSE

Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.

Physicians with a license ever restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action, or denied will not be considered.

BOARD CERTIFICATION

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.

CREDENTIALING AND PRIVILEGING

Must be credentialed and privileged per VHA Directive 1100.20 and 1100.21.

No services may be provided prior to approval by the Facility Medical Executive Board and Medical Center Director.

Contractor must provide an acceptable substitute at no additional cost if a physician's credentials/privileges are suspended, revoked, or not obtained.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY

Technically proficient in skills necessary to fulfill VA requirements.

Fluent in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English.

Must provide documentation verifying current competency, certification, and licensure upon request.

Must provide verifiable evidence of all educational and training history, including any gaps.

Must abide by the facility's Medical Staff By-Laws, rules, and regulations.

CONTINUING EDUCATION (CME/CEU)

Must maintain CME/CEU hours per national/medical association standards to remain current.

Must report CME hours to the credentialing office (required for privileging and re-privileging); failure to provide results in loss of privileges.

MANDATORY TRAINING (annual unless noted)

ACLS/BLS (required for all Board Certified/Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Practice physicians)
