Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,150 - $7,280
• Location: Marquette, MI 49855 (Upper Peninsula, Lake Superior)
• Practice Setting: 95% outpatient, 5% inpatient — outpatient oncology clinic and hematology practice
• Schedule: 2 weeks per month (consecutive preferred); Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm; occasional night and weekend call (primarily phone-based)
• Patient Load: 10–15 patients per day (new patient consults and follow-ups)
• Duration: 13-week contract with ongoing locum tenens assignments available
• Nearest Airport: Sawyer Regional Airport

Job Requirements

• Board Certified Hematologist?Oncologist (MD) in Internal Medicine – Hematology and Oncology
• Active Michigan medical license required (IMLC not accepted)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Completed Hematology/Oncology fellowship (minimum 2 years)
• At least 1 year of clinical experience in hematology/oncology practice preferred
• Comfortable managing outpatient oncology care with limited inpatient consults
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team (nurses, navigators, pharmacists, social workers, lab techs)

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care in a primarily outpatient setting (clinic-based hematology/oncology)
• Conduct new patient consults (60 minutes) and follow-up visits (30 minutes)
• Participate in weekly tumor board and collaborate with genetic counselors, research associates, and primary care providers
• Perform occasional inpatient consults as needed (inpatients admitted by hospitalist group)
• Participate in phone-based call rotation (currently 1:2)
• Document and manage patient care using ONCO EMR
• Engage with a multidisciplinary care team including RNs, patient navigators, pharmacists, lab techs, social workers, and financial counselors
