Family Medicine MD needed for CA

A well-established outpatient healthcare organization is seeking a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician (MD/DO) for a long-term locum tenens assignment due to an ongoing permanent vacancy. This is a great opportunity for providers looking for consistent, weekday-only coverage in a supportive outpatient setting.

Position Details:

• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: Ongoing
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Call: None
• Setting: Outpatient clinic
• Patient Volume: Minimum 18 patients per day
• Patient Population: Mix of adult and pediatric patients (Family Medicine preferred, IM considered)
• EMR: Epic

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services
• Manage acute and chronic conditions across a diverse patient population
• Perform routine preventative care and wellness visits
• Complete documentation and chart closure within 72 hours
• Some exposure to chronic pain management cases

Support Staff:

• 1 RN
• 2 Medical Assistants

Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• Active California medical license required (no licensing assistance provided)
• Active DEA required prior to start
• BLS certification required

Credentialing & Onboarding:

• Credentialing timeframe: approximately 30–90 days (can be as quick as ~6 weeks with timely submission)
• Providers must submit complete work history with all gaps explained
• Required immunizations prior to start:
  • Flu vaccine
  • TB test or chest X-ray (within 90 days)
  • MMR, Hepatitis B, and Varicella titers or full immunization records
  • Tdap (within last 10 years)
