Job description
Join our team as a Locum Physician specializing in General Medicine in Edmond, OK, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans while enjoying flexible, rewarding work. This critical role offers the opportunity to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments on a PRN basis, supporting veterans with your clinical expertise. Whether you prefer to work full days or half-days, you will have the flexibility to tailor your schedule to your availability while contributing to a vital mission.
You will perform interview-based exams, including physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing, with no prescribing or treatment involved. The role requires familiarity with musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions, as well as proficiency in METs testing and evaluating respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological health. Using your own personal laptop (non-Mac), you will complete standardized reports within 48 hours, contributing to streamlined veteran care documentation.
Ideal candidates will possess strong interpersonal and clinical skills, along with the ability to evaluate diagnoses effectively. Additional certifications such as DMA are preferred but not required initially, with training available through VES. Applicants should have experience with Goniometers and be comfortable conducting brief physical assessments and record reviews. Travel is included in the rate, with options to perform exams at leased facilities or within your own practice.
Candidates should hold a background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related general medicine fields, with relevant experience in compensation and pension evaluations highly valued. A proactive, detail-oriented approach is essential, along with the ability to meet reporting deadlines and adapt to different exam settings.
This position offers competitive hourly compensation at $624.00 per hour, with flat-rate options for half-day ($600) and full-day ($1200) shifts, including bonuses for completing initial training and first exams. We seek local candidates in Edmond, OK, committed to providing exceptional veteran care.
Take advantage of this unique opportunity to work flexibly in a meaningful role supporting our nation's heroes. Apply now to join a dedicated team that values your skills and commitment.
