We are seeking a qualified Board Certified/Board Eligible FM/IM Physician to provide medical care within a correctional facility infirmary. The physician will manage a mix of scheduled infirmary patients and acute medical issues among the incarcerated population. The infirmary census typically averages between 14–24 patients, most of whom are stable and require routine monitoring and periodic follow-ups.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide primary and acute medical care to patients within the correctional infirmary
Evaluate and manage acute medical issues presenting in the facility
Conduct routine evaluations and follow-up care for infirmary patients
Perform basic bedside procedures as needed, including:
Suturing
Splinting
Incision and drainage
Collaborate with nursing staff and correctional healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system
Patient Population:
Adult patients within a correctional environment with a mix of chronic and acute medical conditions.
Electronic Medical Record (EMR):
TechCare
Requirements:
Board Eligible or Board-Certified Physician (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related field)
Active PA medical license
BLS, ACLS
Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, correctional medicine, or primary care preferred
