Primary Care Physician (Family Practice/Internal Medicine)
On-Site | Augusta, Georgia (local or locum)
Any state license accepted!

Position Highlights:

• Augusta, Georgia – beautiful historic city with great food, golf, and outdoor recreation
• Open to local or traveling physicians – travel and lodging support available
• Any active U.S. state medical license accepted (no Georgia license required)
• 1099 contract opportunity (malpractice insurance covered)
• $160/hour plus $3,500/month living expense allowance
• Summer 2026 start date with flexible onboarding timeline
• Consistent Monday–Friday schedule, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• No weekends or federal holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide preventive care including immunizations, cancer screenings, and lifestyle counseling
• Diagnose and manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, COPD, and heart failure
• Evaluate and treat acute or urgent medical concerns
• Conduct screenings for depression, PTSD, and substance use disorders
• Coordinate care with specialists and community providers when needed
• Lead a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) working alongside pharmacists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals
• Address women's health and geriatric care needs when applicable
• Utilize telehealth tools including video visits, telephone appointments, and secure messaging
• Coordinate inpatient admissions when required

Administrative Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Complete required clinical documentation and coding following patient encounters
• Participate in staff meetings and provider discussions
• Follow VA patient safety and quality improvement protocols

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
• Completed accredited residency program
• Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state
• Active DEA and NPI
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in the VA healthcare system
• Experience working in multidisciplinary care teams
• BLS and ACLS certifications preferred
• Comfort with telehealth and electronic health record systems
