The Role
We are seeking a board-certified Internal Medicine physician (MD/DO) with experience teaching residents in an outpatient setting and a passion for leadership in academic primary care. This position blends continuity care, resident education, and program leadership within a thoughtfully structured weekday schedule.
Practice Model
Morning continuity clinics with your own independent patient panel
Up to two learners (Internal Medicine residents and/or medical students) paired with you
Afternoon resident clinic focused on dedicated precepting
No double-booking of your personal patient panel
Shared clinic call coverage within a collegial faculty group
0.5 day of protected administrative time weekly, with flexibility based on leadership and program responsibilities
Back-Up Phone Call Only in rotation every 3rd to 4th week
What You’ll Do
Deliver high-quality, comprehensive outpatient primary care to a diverse and underserved patient population
Teach, supervise, and mentor Internal Medicine residents and medical students in the ambulatory setting
Shape resident education through curriculum development, bedside teaching, and longitudinal mentorship
Lead or participate in quality improvement initiatives and academic projects
Take on leadership responsibilities within the clinic and residency program, aligned with your interests and experience
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to continuously improve patient care and learner experience

Qualifications
Requirements:
Unrestricted State of Connecticut medical license (or eligible)
MD or DO, BE/BC Internal Medicine
Flexible, collaborative, and excited to contribute beyond traditional clinical duties
Passionate about academic medicine, team-based care, and caring for underserved populations
Preferred:
Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Internal Medicine residents in an outpatient clinic setting
- Proven leadership experience in clinical operations, education, quality improvement, or administration
Working Hours
