Overview
We are seeking experienced General Medicine Physicians to deliver high-quality care on a locum basis within the Houston area. This role involves performing one-time compensation and pension examinations, including separation health assessments, primarily interview-based with some physical assessments. You will play a vital role in supporting our veterans and the healthcare system by providing efficient, courteous, and professional evaluations. This position offers flexibility on a PRN basis, with opportunities to work halftimes or full days, tailored around your availability.

Required Skills
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with active state medical license in Texas or eligible for licensure.
  • Proven experience in general medicine, internal medicine, or family medicine.
  • Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive examinations professionally.
  • Ability to efficiently complete exams and submit detailed reports promptly.
  • Familiarity with veteran examinations and understanding of Compensation & Pension processes is a plus but not mandatory.

Nice to Have Skills
  • Prior experience with veteran or military health assessments.
  • Knowledge of medical documentation and report writing standards.
  • Certification in DME or familiarity with VA procedures.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in family medicine, internal medicine, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years outpatient clinical experience.
  • Previous experience performing C&P exams or similar assessments is preferred.

Other Requirements
  • Must have own office within 50 miles of Houston, TX, for provider-owned office options.
  • Willingness to work on a PRN basis, including occasional half-day or full-day shifts.
  • Ability to complete administrative follow-up, including preparing addendums or medical opinions, without additional compensation.
  • No travel reimbursements for certifications or portal training are provided.
