Position Overview
One of our Partners, in Massachusetts the flagship university-based adult primary care practice in Worcester, Massachusetts, is seeking a locum tenens Primary Care Physician to provide full-time outpatient coverage for a 6-month assignment. This is a no-call, outpatient-only role with a structured schedule, extensive clinical support, and a collaborative academic practice environment.
Based on current 2025–2026 national locum tenens market data for outpatient primary care physicians in academic and university-affiliated settings, the provider compensation for this assignment ranks in the Top 10% nationally.

Job Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive outpatient adult primary care services
-
Manage chronic conditions and routine acute issues
-
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary, team-based care model
-
Review labs, imaging, and consultant recommendations
-
Coordinate care with embedded specialists and support staff

Document all encounters accurately and efficiently in Epic
Skills & Experience
-
Strong outpatient adult primary care experience
-
Comfort practicing in an academic, team-based environment
-
Ability to manage a consistent patient volume efficiently
-
Prior Epic experience preferred
Qualifications

MD or DO
-
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
-
Active Massachusetts medical license preferred
-
DEA and Massachusetts CSR required
