Job Summary
Physician providing comprehensive family medicine care, including diagnosis, treatment, consultation, patient education, and follow-up for adult patients. Responsibilities include accurate medical record maintenance, serving as a supervisory physician for mid-level providers and residents as required, and performing additional duties consistent with the role and scope of practice.
Primary Functions
* Perform comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations
* Develop and implement diagnostic, preventive, educational, and treatment plans in accordance with accepted medical standards
* Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures
* Make appropriate referrals to specialists and ancillary services
* Maintain accurate and timely patient records
* Adhere to established charting and documentation protocols
* Coordinate continuity of care across healthcare services
* Promote health through patient education on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention
* Administer immunizations and vaccinations as indicated
* Perform minor surgical procedures within scope of practice
* Report deaths and communicable diseases to appropriate governmental authorities
* Complete additional responsibilities as assigned
Education and Experience
* Doctoral degree (MD or DO)
* Minimum of five years of clinical experience
* Minimum of two years of clinical teaching experience preferred
* Current state medical license in good standing
* Board certified or board eligible
* DEA registration and state controlled substance registration
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
* Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and problem-solving ability
* Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
* Ability to perform under pressure in a clinical environment
* Computer literacy and proficiency with electronic medical records
