Position Overview:
AtlantiCare is seeking a dedicated Family Practice Physician for a locum-to-permanent role within AtlantiCare Primary Care in Rio Grande, New Jersey. This opportunity is ideal for physicians interested in transitioning from a temporary assignment to a permanent position. Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver outpatient primary care services to adult patients in a Level II trauma-designated setting.
  • Conduct adult medical assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans.
  • Interpret electrocardiograms (EKGs) accurately to support patient care.
  • Perform occupational health evaluations, including disability and occupational medicine exams.
  • Document patient encounters accurately using the Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Adhere to established clinical guidelines, protocols, and best practices to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications:
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Active New Jersey medical license (or eligible and able to obtain licensing within approximately 90 days).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
  • Prior experience in primary care or family medicine is preferred.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently in a busy outpatient setting.

Schedule and Compensation:
  • Day shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with no call, inpatient responsibilities, or emergency department backup required.
  • Position aligns with ongoing coverage needs due to provider departure.
  • Travel reimbursement available for local providers; mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rates.

Additional Details:
  • Credentialing process estimated to take approximately 90 days.
  • Practice utilizes Cerner EMR; familiarity preferred but not mandatory.
