Step into a high-impact leadership role where clinical expertise meets population health strategy. We’re seeking a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician to serve as an Associate Medical Director for a managed care organization in Dallas, TX. This is a 13-week locum assignment with a strong pathway to permanent placement, starting fully remote and transitioning to a hybrid model upon conversion to permanent.

In this role, you’ll provide hands-on clinical oversight, guide utilization management decisions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care for members—while influencing policy, quality, and system-wide improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review prior authorizations and appeals for medical necessity

  • Conduct peer-to-peer reviews to support utilization management

  • Provide clinical oversight across utilization, disease, quality, and pharmacy management

  • Contribute to medical policies, clinical guidelines, and evidence-based standards

  • Analyze provider performance data and support credentialing and compliance reviews

  • Assist with fraud, waste, and abuse clinical oversight

  • Participate in state and local clinical activities and committees

  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and outcomes

  • Support provider and member education and health promotion efforts

Required Qualifications

  • Board Certified in Family Medicine

  • Active Texas license or willingness to obtain

  • Managed care and prior authorization experience

  • Familiarity with Texas Medicaid regulations

  • Clean malpractice and license history

  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
