Locum Tenens Physician (MD/DO) needed for Medical Director position in beautiful, rural, Southeast Alaska


Location: Southeast Alaska

Job Type: 1099 Locum Tenens Contract

Date Range: ASAP 3-6 months with the possibility of extending or permanent placement


Compensation: Hourly rate starting at $200.


Schedule:

  • Clinic Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
  • 12 hrs/week administrative time
  • 4-5 days/month of scheduled call (nights/weekends)

We're seeking a passionate Physician (MD/DO) who is eager to embrace adventure and make a meaningful impact through emergency medicine. You'll be working with a dedicated team of professionals at this medical clinic in this rural Alaskan town. You will be putting both your clinical expertise and management skills to work as a Locum Tenens Medical Director. With no hospital on the island, patients must be triaged and stabilized for medevac when necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct Patient Care
  • Medical Staff Leadership & Oversight
  • Quality & Clinical Performance Oversight
  • Utilization & Care Coordination
  • Administrative Duties

Position Requirements:

  • Active Alaska State Physician (MD/DO) license
  • Completed Accredited Residency (Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Med/Peds, or Emergency Medicine)
  • Board Certification (ABFP, ABIM, or ABEM)
  • Active BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS
  • Active DEA registration
  • Supervises primary care physicians and APPs
  • Minimum 5-years clinical experience, including ED experience for triage and medevac
  • 2-years of administrative experience, including supervision and program management
