Adelphi is seeking a licensed Medical Doctor (MD or DO) with residency training in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine for a part-time outpatient clinic assignment in Cameron County, Texas. The physician will provide direct patient care, manage chronic and complex medical conditions, and support patients with both medical and behavioral health needs.

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
  • Current Texas medical license, with no history of sanctions.
  • Board eligible or board certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
  • Current DEA, NPI, and CPR/BLS certifications.
  • ECFMG certification (if applicable).
  • Must comply with all required immunizations.
  • Must complete drug testing, fingerprinting, and all facility/agency training prior to start.
  • Outpatient clinical experience managing chronic illnesses preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred. Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite, direct patient care Monday through Friday during assigned half-day schedule.
  • Conduct complete medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Manage patients with chronic medical illnesses, acute needs, and behavioral health conditions.
  • Provide diagnostic assessments and implement treatment aligned with Internal Medicine/Family Medicine standards of care.
  • Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies, including radiology.
  • Accurately document all care in the EMR and complete required reports within specified timelines.
  • Develop and maintain individualized disease management and treatment plans.
  • Submit electronic prescriptions and update medical documentation as needed.
  • Participate in clinic Quality Improvement processes and maintain compliance with regulatory standards (Medicare, Medicaid, CMS, and others).
  • Provide individualized, evidence-based medical care in accordance with credentialing and privileging requirements.
  • When needed, provide minor injury treatment to staff injured in the course of work.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned, including disaster response participation or COOP activities that may require alternate schedules or locations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of any required service documentation.
