Post-Acute Care Medical Director (Part-Time) | Boone, North Carolina
Position Type: Part-Time | 1 Day per Week | 6–8 Hour Workday
Compensation: $74,457 – $89,348 annually (fee-for-service model, uncapped productivity potential)
About the Opportunity:
Seeking a Post-Acute Care Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and oversight at a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility located in Boone, North Carolina. This flexible, part-time opportunity allows for excellent work-life balance—one day per week—while offering competitive compensation and the ability to make a meaningful impact in post-acute medicine.
Responsibilities:
Provide medical care and oversight for residents in a short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility
Mentor and support collaborating clinicians (NPs/PAs)
Ensure timely response to pharmacy needs, acute clinical issues, and documentation of care
Maintain compliance with regulatory and quality guidelines
Attend and contribute to monthly leadership meetings
Promote evidence-based, patient-centered care within the facility
Qualifications:
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
Board certified/eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatrics
Active North Carolina medical license (or ability to obtain)
Experience in post-acute, hospital, hospice, or home health medicine preferred
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Compensation & Benefits:
Fee-for-service model with uncapped earning potential
Expected annual compensation: $74,457 – $89,348
