Job description
Position Title: Family Medicine Physician
Employment Type: Full-Time (10-hour shifts, Monday-Thursday)
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM (½-hour lunch). On-call coverage required (shared among providers) to respond to urgent calls from an answering service.
Practice Setting: Outpatient clinic
Role Summary:
The Family Medicine Physician assesses and evaluates the healthcare needs of patients, performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, manages patient care, and participates in clinic-wide initiatives including quality assurance. The physician may be assigned inpatient care as needed.
Key Responsibilities:

Take comprehensive patient histories and perform complete physical examinations in the clinic setting.

Assess patients' clinical status and determine appropriate diagnostic tests and procedures.

Order and interpret laboratory and screening tests to support diagnosis and treatment planning.

Formulate problem lists based on clinical findings and coordinate multidisciplinary care.

Recommend and/or administer treatments or medications according to approved protocols.

Provide patient and family education on care, prevention, and treatment strategies.

Prepare, update, and review clinic protocols and quality assurance documentation.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records, including history, exam notes, medication history, ongoing care, and referrals.

Participate in regular meetings, committees, and quality assurance activities.

Provide after-hours coverage for medical emergencies as required.

Respond constructively to patient or staff concerns and contribute to service-improvement efforts.

Participate in peer evaluation of clinical support staff and colleagues.
Qualifications:

MD or DO from a nationally-accredited institution.
-
Board-certified in Family Medicine.

Current, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.

Active DEA registration.
-
Eligible for Medicare/Medicaid enrollment and credentialing with relevant health plans.

Experience in an outpatient clinic setting, preferably serving underserved or indigent populations; new graduates with completed residency are encouraged to apply.

Valid state driver's license.

Current CPR card; ACLS, BLS/BCLS, PALS, NALS certifications (onsite training available for some).
